The Duchess, who returned from maternity leave last week, wore a lilac Emilia Wickstead fit and flare dress with her Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps in praline and a £595 Aspinal crocodile embossed cross body bag.

The event was attended by political figures, experts and policy makers who proceeded to discuss issues such as how to deal with the stigma attached to mental health - a subject very close to the royal's heart.

William was also given the chance to add to the painting and he popped a brush stroke near the bottom. And so did William's jokes.

"Where can you hide it", Kate joked as she painted a white stroke, and which point Prince William said, "It's nearly ruined the picture", before adding, "No, this is probably how you ruin a picture" as he took his turn. The initiative was started by Dixon Chibanda and teaches the women to become lay health workers.

Middleton attended her first solo royal engagement since her son's birth last week, when she visited the Paddington Recreation Ground in Ewhurst, England to spend time with local school children.

The duchess first showed off the Emilia Wickstead dress on a trip to Germany previous year.

In the lead-up to hosting a Marathon for Mental Health in the United Kingdom in 2017, Prince Harry revealed he'd sought counselling in his early 20's after two years of what he labelled "total chaos" following the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

The couple is also preparing for another big event on Friday when William's cousin, Princess Eugenie, celebrates her Royal Wedding to fiance, Jack Brooksbank, at Windsor Castle.
