Numerous invaders are attempting to transit these countries and, in the process, are violating their sovereignty, their laws, and their procedures.

The group dubbed a "caravan" was at least in part organized by the leftist Liberty and Refoundation (Libre) party, which controls nearly a quarter of the Honduran legislature and advocates socialism. One exception to this rule would be if the president could prove that the nations in question violated conditions that were placed on the aid. Though Mexican authorities tried to stop them at a border bridge between Mexico and Guatemala, some managed to cross into the country by boat. Those questions have only grown as media outlets across the globe broadcast images showing Mexican law enforcement officers powerless to prevent the migrant's march through the country's cities and highways en route to the U.S.

Watch above, via Fox News. Although reports of clashes with Mexican forces at the Guatemala-Mexico border emerged over the weekend, the caravan is estimated to have topped 7,000 people as it continues to make its way north. She says she plans to head for the United States, but will linger in Mexico to see how US President Donald Trump's immigration policies play out.

Honduran migrants heading in a caravan to the United States, arrive in Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas state, Mexico, after crossing the Suchiate River from Guatemala in makeshift rafts, on October 20, 2018.

This was exhibited on Friday when the caravan, which had begun converging on the northern Guatemalan border, turned violent upon being denied entry into Mexico.

Guatemala received $176,928,403 from the 2016.

Mr Trump and his fellow Republicans have sought to elevate the caravan, which has made its way into Mexico bound for the US border, and immigration as campaign issues ahead of the mid-term elections, in which his party is fighting to maintain control of the US Senate and House of Representatives.

A Honduran-born leader of the migrant caravan rejected Trump's assertion that there were people from the Middle East in the group. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy.

Rights activists accused Mexico of mistreating the migrants.

And although more attention has been paid to the situation in the U.S., Mexico has been receiving an increased number of asylum claims in recent years.

The migrants say that they are trying to escape violence and poverty.

On Monday, President Donald Trump tweeted that he would be ending or "substantially reducing" foreign aid to Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

In May, the president of a major union representing U.S. Border Patrol personnel claimed that Trump's decision to send National Guard troops to the U.S. -Mexico border that month was "a colossal waste of resources".

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, however, denounced the "apparent political motivation of some organizers of the caravan".

"Cutting assistance doesn't give leverage in terms of changing policies, and actually undermines the existing USA efforts to tamp down what we know to be the drivers of migration", said Jeremy Konyndyk of the Center for Global Development. He's further blamed Democrat lawmakers for unwillingness to cooperate on changing the laws.

Two weeks out from the crucial midterm elections, Trump also hit out at Democrats for failing to vote in favor of two Republican sponsored immigration bills earlier this year.

Both chambers, however, are slated to be in recess until the week after the November 6 elections.
