Red Dead Redemption 2 app hits iOS and Android this week

Rockstar brought us the entire Grand Theft Auto series, and building a game more in-depth than those legendary titles must have been no easy feat. Just don't get any chicken grease on the attractive copies of Red Dead Redemption 2, please!

If one screen of Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't quite enough, Rockstar Games will roll out a companion iOS and Android app for the upcoming sequel of the open-world, story-based action-adventure game set in the Wild West. It will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4/4 Pro (for certain).

In celebration of the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, from 11.30 pm on Thursday night hungry, and probably cold, gamers can get free KFC delivered at the London, Soho branch of GAME from Deliveroo. The app also houses a digital game manual, an optional digital version of RDR2 as well as the game's Complete Official Guide. The freebies will be available from around 11.30pm, with the game going on sale at 12.

You can also use the smartphone / tablet app to read your in-game journal, display character stats and information in real-time, and even remove the game's HUD from the TV entirely for a more cinematic feel. Rockstar has presumably announced this new feature now so that gamers can have the app downloaded and ready to go when the game itself is released.
