Snapchat's PR firm sues Instagram influencer for failing to promote Snap Spectacles

Sabbat's Snapchat Spectacles influencer contract was for $60,000, with $45,000 being paid up front.

The sunglasses are outfitted with cameras on the sides of the lenses, allowing users to post exactly what they're seeing to Snapchat with a push of a button. The contract required him to wear the Spectacles in one Instagram post and three Stories, two of which had to be in NY during the city's fashion week, while the other had to be during either Milan or Paris fashion week. He also agreed to wear them for one post for shows in either Paris or Milan later that month. He was also supposed to include Instagram's "swipe-up-to-buy" links on those posts in hopes of getting some sales from his followers. PR Consulting Inc. also adds that Sabbat did not submit his posts for pre-approval, in addition to refusing to appear in public at Milan or Paris Fashion Weeks rocking the Spectacles.

But the stylish young influencer failed to live up to his end of the deal, PR Consulting claims. He only made one Stories post and the single Feed post while neglecting to do anything else.

He also allegedly did not send over the required analytics "within 24 hours of the posting" or be photographed in public wearing the high-tech glasses. The suit alleges that Sabbat admits to being at fault but refused to return any of the money he was paid.

By way of recompense Sabbat's PR handlers are seeking the return of their $45k plus an additional $45k in damages.

A call to a number listed for Sabbat went unanswered.
