Saints reportedly sign ex-Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant

On field again: Dez Bryant is joining the New Orleans Saints, agreeing to a contract through the rest of this season.

Dez Bryant will face the his old team this season on November 29. With Cameron Meredith still in Sean Payton's doghouse for a Week 5 fumble and Austin Carr struggling to catch when thrown to, there's plenty of opportunity for someone like Bryant to step in and produce.

After months of speculation, Dez Bryant may finally find a new home. Ostensibly, even a slower Bryant should be able to use his size, physical nature, and route acumen to make serious gains in this offense, especially after the catch.

Bryant, who has not played an National Football League game since last year's season finale with the Cowboys in Philly, was released in March.

Bryant, of course, has been out of work since the Dallas Cowboys released him last April.

Bryant, the franchise leader in touchdown receptions, was released just one week prior to the draft by Dallas, and has yet to latch onto a team. However, the Cowboys did trade for Oakland Raiders wide receiver during their bye week this season. Running back Alvin Kamara ranks second with 51 catches, and he's gifted enough to catch passes in the formation as well as out of the backfield. So there's a little extra incentive for Bryant to sign here.
