Washington band member Patrick Stanton said on Twitter that the involved band members were "fine, but shaken up and holed up in an elementary school to regroup".

One of six charter buses carrying members of the University of Washington marching band and spirit squads to the Apple Cup in Pullman rolled onto its side Thursday on an icy stretch of Interstate 90, according to the Washington State Patrol.

WSU Athletic Director Pat Chun tweeted Friday that the UW band's reserved seats at Martin Stadium will be left unfilled "in honor of our friends from the Westside".

Bryant said 56 people were on the bus that rolled over. There were 56 people on the bus and almost 40 of those victims were taking to several local hospitals where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

"The injuries reported were cuts, complaints of general pain and back pain, but the injuries are not believed to be critical", Victor Balta, a University of Washington spokesman, said in a statement. "The University is doing everything it can to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff ..."

The band has not officially said whether they plan to perform at the Friday evening game.

She thanked the first responders, Quincy School District and the administration and staff of George Elementary "who went far out of their way to take such incredible care of our students on Thanksgiving night".
