Turkey foreign minister says Trump wants to avoid Khashoggi death

Denmark follows Germany, which had already indicated its intention to cut off weapons exports to Saudi in late October. A senior French official on Friday reiterated France's demands for a thorough investigation.

The crown prince on Thursday began a tour of several Arab countries in the United Arab Emirates, his first trip overseas since the murder, which has strained Saudi Arabia's ties with the West and battered his image overseas.

Congressional leaders have been more skeptical of the crown prince's denials. Critics accuse Trump of turning a blind eye to Saudi Arabia's abuses because of its influence on the world oil market.

Trump says the kingdom is an important ally that has helped to lower oil prices. The official said it's unclear whether Macron will meet with bin Salman privately.

Khashoggi is the Washington Post journalist who lived in the US but was horrifically assassinated in the Saudi embassy in Turkey.

Mevlut Cavusoglu also described many European nations' response to Khashoggi's killing as "artificial" and "cosmetic". Finally, they admitted he was killed by a drug which was injected into him with the intention of abducting him to Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, Trump said the Central Intelligence Agency did not have any definitive answer on whether Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had been aware of the premeditated killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

He added: "Money isn't everything".

On Thursday, bin Salman began a tour of several Arab states, starting with the United Arab Emirates, in his first trip overseas since the killing of Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Turkey's city of Istanbul last month, which is blamed on him and battered his image overseas. "We should not distance ourselves from human values", Çavuşoğlu told CNN Türk. The conservative Islamic kingdom is veiled, its government opaque - a hard place to investigate the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a veteran Saudi journalist who dared to criticize this country's all-powerful rulers. CIA officials have high confidence in their conclusion, which is based on multiple sources of intelligence, the Post reported November 16.

The crown prince and his father said they did not commit "this atrocity", Trump said while on vacation in Florida. After offering numerous contradictory explanations, Riyadh said last week that Khashoggi was killed and his body dismembered when "negotiations" to persuade him to return to Saudi Arabia failed.

"You can conclude maybe he did or maybe he didn't", Trump said about the Central Intelligence Agency report.

"We found the US President's statement about MBS's involvement where he said 'Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, ' interesting".

We have known that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) coalition war in Yemen was backed by the USA, but the USA president has just publicly stated how it works.
