3 reasons they should trade for Markelle Fultz

In the midst of the Miami Heat looking for its next big star, Chris Sheridan of Sheridan Hoops reported that James Johnson, Wayne Ellington, and Rodney McGruder would less than likely be included in a deal for Markelle Fultz.

Fultz stepped away from Philadelphia last week in order to deal with a shoulder injury and the team reportedly no longer saw him in its long-term plans.

Fultz was the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Sixers guard Markelle Fultz is meeting with specialists Monday and again mid-week in NY, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"I have given no indication to [Sixers general manager] Elton Brand or anyone else that Markelle would prefer to be traded", agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN. "My focus is to get Markelle healthy". "For now, however, Fultz is still around the team as if nothing has changed except his playing time. And they are no longer using his shoulder as an excuse for his performances".

The Sixers continue to expect that Fultz will return to the team and reclaim a role off the bench, sources said.

He also didn't feature in the second half of last week's win over the Phoenix Suns, with T.J. McConnell getting backup point guard responsibilities instead. Through 16 games, the fourth-year guard has averaged 3.9 points, 2.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game. He can become a free agent after 2018-19.
