A video game player has been accused of raping a 15-year-old girl after he was allegedly overheard committing the act through his PlayStation 4 console. Police told WFLA-TV Fabian told the other player he was going to "smash" a 15-year-old girl who was at his house.

About 15 minutes later, Fabian resumed the game with the other player, police said.

The unidentified victim told police that Fabian covered her mouth with his hand, pushed her onto his bed and raped her, despite four attempts to stop him.

Daniel Enrique Fabian has since been charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery of a person between the ages of 12 and 15.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Daniel Enrique Fabian, was arrested last week in Pasco County, WFLA 8 reports.

The alleged rape was reported to police in October 2016, after the girl's mother said she found the video that month. He was then arrested and charged.

A police affidavit says a medical examination supported the teenager's allegation, local media report.

Investigators also took a DNA swab form Fabian that linked him to the crime, according to police.

Fabian was arrested on November 21 and charged with lewd and lascivious battery.

He has pleaded not guilty in the first case and is being represented by a public defender. He is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond at Pasco County jail. No court date is scheduled at this time.

"I had no idea it was this close to us", neighbor Ed Holtzman told WFLA after hearing of the alleged assault.
