Lady Gaga breaks her silence on texts criticizing Katy Perry

Lady Gaga: She is probably really afraid to lose everything.

In the texts, Kesha says she's "really upset" with Perry because she could help bring Luke to justice but won't. Katy is my friend and is truly a kind soul.

After the texts made headlines, Lady Gaga took to Twitter Friday to send love to Perry, tweeting that they were "old" messages. They are pushing a defamation suit against the singer to prove that her 2014 filing of alleged sexual assault and battery was "categorically" fabricated.

Perry chose to remain neutral, saying, "People were generally very angry at me for not saying anything", but that "I want to stay out of it because I know them both [Kesha and Dr. Luke] and I empathize with both of them", she said.

And Lady Gaga will kick off her 27-date Enigma Las Vegas residency at Park MGM's Park Theater beginning December 28.

Kesha: You're right. I need to find sympathy and empathy for her.

"Lady Gaga tried to clarify everything through social media, she wrote ".@katyperry & I have grown up in the industry together. When discussing whether or not to speak to her about being involved in the lawsuit, they later agreed that Perry is "mean".

Earlier this year, Kesha also named Katy Perry as one of Dr. Luke's victims, though Perry denied that she was ever raped by the producer. "Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests".

Lady Gaga described a story that surfaced online, it's about the ongoing legal battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke.

In a statement on Friday, Sean Cassidy, a spokesman for Gaga, had said in a statement, "These text messages paint a picture of one friend trying to help another through an extraordinary hard time".

When asked if that was because of Kesha's sexual assault allegation, Perry replied, "Yes". "So it was easy for them to be disattached and support an idea rather than an actual instance", Perry stated. "I want to stay out of it because I know them both and I empathize with both of them and obviously it's a frightful situation for both of them". And the only two people that know what really went on are those two people.

Although Perry claims to have severed ties with Dr Luke in the wake of the Kesha allegations, she admits in the deposition to employing Prescription Songs, a company owned by Dr. Luke, on her 2017 album Witness.
