Mattis says Russian Federation tried to 'muck around' United States vote, again
US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis on Saturday blasted Moscow following the Russian navy's "brazen" violation of a waterway treaty with Kiev and the seizure of three Ukrainian vessels.
Citing the unresolved standoff, President Donald Trump canceled a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Group of 20 gathering in Buenos Aires that's now under way. He recognizes that what he does is actually creates hostility against his people.
US Defence Secretary James Mattis has criticized Russian Federation over its naval confrontation with Ukraine, saying Moscow had "brazenly" violated its agreement with the eastern European country.
Notably calling President Vladimir Putin out by name, Mattis said that Putin's actions have become a catalyst for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries to "rearm and to strengthen" on a unified and democratic level.
On Saturday, Putin said he hopes a meeting with Trump will take place "when the U.S. is ready".
That comment reiterated those he made several days prior that Russia's attack upon and seizure of three Ukrainian ships violated worldwide law.
On Beijing, Mattis said the U.S.is seeking a "constructive reciprocal, results-oriented" relationship.
Russian President Vladimir Putin "tried again to muck around in our elections this last month, and we are seeing a continued effort along those lines", Mattis told an audience at the Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, California on Saturday.
The US Defense Secretary James Mattis has said that deepening security co-operation between the US and India shows the growing trust between the world's two largest democracies.
"But we do not accept predatory economic practices or coercion of smaller states", Mattis said.
Russian Federation continues to violate worldwide agreements to which the United States cannot trust the leadership of this country. In this December 1, the White house spokesman Sarah Sanders said that trump during an official dinner at the G20 summit still had an informal conversation with Putin.
