Between April 1 and September 30, Mueller has sent former Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos and former Manafort associate Alex van der Zwaan to federal prison to serve short sentences; received a guilty plea from former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who faces up to 80 years in prison and a guilty plea from former Trump personal attorney Michael Cohen for making false statements to Congress; and received President Trump's answers to critical questions in the investigation, among other things. "Why didn't they break into the DNC to get the Server, or Crooked's office?" he tweeted. He agreed to cooperate with Mueller and he testified against Manafort, his former business partner. American intelligence agencies and Mueller have said Russian Federation was the source of hacked material released by WikiLeaks during the campaign that was damaging to Clinton's presidential effort.

Sam Patten pleaded guilty in August to unregistered lobbying for a pro-Kremlin political party in Ukraine and admitted to arranging for a USA citizen to act as a straw purchaser to buy tickets to Trump's inauguration for a Ukrainian oligarch.

The FBI obtained a warrant for the raid after a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. He has indicted more than two dozen Russians, including intelligence operatives, for hacking into the computers of the Democratic National Committee and leaking information damaging to Clinton.

The House of Representatives is expected to engage in a wide range of investigations into Trump's businesses and conduct.

On January 3, the new Democratic majority will be sworn into the House of Representatives, and with them will come multiple investigations into the Trump world, as well as a guarantee that numerous president's policy initiatives will be shot down unless he's willing to work with Democrats.
