Police offer free service to test meth for Zika

The Harasha Police Department recently posted to Facebook that meth bought in any area of Louisiana has been contaminated with Zika. "Please bring all of it to your local Police Department and they will test it for free". We're available 24/7/365. Be Safe!

The post went viral, racking up more than 4,500 shares as of Sunday evening.

Many found the joke amusing, with one person commenting, "It's a trap!" and another said, "I better call my sponsor".

Zika is a virus that is known to spread through mosquito bites and can cause serious issues in pregnant women, who can transfer the virus to their babies.

As of Monday morning, the stories by KLFY-TV and WVUE-TV remained unchanged. But don't worry - police there say they are willing to test your meth for free to make sure.

Moody told ABC News the post was an "attempt at humor" and an effort to raise awareness about risky drugs. The Gratis Police Department made an nearly identical post earlier this year in May.

At least that's what cops in Louisiana are saying.
