Rahul and Pandya suspended: The Indian opening batsman and all-rounder have been suspended pending inquiry.

As punishment, Pandya and Rahul were suspended by India's cricket administrators, hours after captain Virat Kohli expressed his strong disapproval.

Hardik has since issued a statement on Twitter, where he said, "After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way".

Hardik Pandya may have been getting grilled from every corner of his life, but his father Himanshu Pandya has defended his statements by saying that his son was just trying to entertain the audience adding that his words should be not be taken seriously. It was an entertainment show and his comments were made in a light-hearted manner. On the show, he also said how he informed his parents that he lost his virginity in a amusing manner. As per the recommendation sent by the cricket board's legal team, Pandya and Rahul should be given one week to respond to their show-cause notices.

The BCCI statement said both offending players were initially hit with a notice which led them to respond with an apology. "I'm right here." And we can clearly see that "I will kill you" expression on her face.

Supriyo tweeted, "With due & utter respect to Diana Edulji & her contribution to Indian cricket, May I say that her thinking has got "fossil" to contemplate such extreme steps".

Supriyo also said there should be a "thick" line between "reprimanding" the players and "destroying" them.

'From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support, ' he said.

This latest controversy, coming immediately in the wake of India's triumph in the Test series in Australia, has once again split the BCCI and the CoA.

"Certain remarks / comments made by the guests on the episode 12 of Koffee with Karan [season 6] may hurt the sentiments of our users / viewers", the Star India-owned Hotstar said in a tweet, replying to a user query about the now-missing episode.
