Jordaan said Masinga was an active member of the South African Masters & Legends an affiliate of SAFA adding Chippa never missed any of SAFA meetings.

Malinga was confirmed dead at a South African hospital on Sunday morning.

Masinga would spend two years with the Elland Road-based club and scored five goals in 31 matches, before moving on to join Switzerland's St. Gallen in 1996, but could not score in 10 matches.

He will be fondly remembered for his goal against Congo which ensured South Africa's qualification to their first World Cup in 1998.
