Former NFL defensive back Tony Beckham was involved in an incident on Monday morning that resulted in a man being treated for a broken face and then arrested.

According to TMZ, Beckham sprung into attack mode "when he saw the guy making masturbating motions" while his hands were inside his trousers.

Authorities say when Beckham's wife, Amanda, came outside she found him holding Cassidy on the ground and she called police.

The suspect who was identified by police as Geoffrey Cassidy, 48, then began to run away from the scene but was quickly apprehended a short time after.

Beckham yelled at the stranger peering into his daughter's room, which prompted Cassidy to flee.

'I caught him at the apartment over there and we just had a good conversation, ' Beckham quipped in an interview with WPBF. "I'm sorry that it happened to him", Beckham said.

Sheriff's deputies said that the "conversation" left Cassidy with a right second zygomatic arch fracture and fracture to the right medial orbital wall/lamina papyracea.

However, the man refused to say where his vehicle was and told police he was a 'transient.

Cassidy has been charged with lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim younger than 16 years old.

Cassidy is being held in Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of a $1,500 bond. The family have since installed blackout blinds to shield their home from prying eyes. He spent the first five years of his career with the Titans, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2002 draft.

The 40-year-old Beckham played six games for the Lions in 2007 after which he retired.
