Mortal Kombat 11 Roster Revealed

As we gear up for another year of Mortal Kombat goodness, with the impending release of MK11, it's time to reflect on the horrors that have come before.

Mortal Kombat 11 arrives as the sequel to Mortal Kombat X, which was released in 2015. We saw battles between Baraka and Scorpion and Sonya Blade and Skarlet.

The Mortal Kombat franchise has a long history that can be traced way back to 1992, when Midway Games Chicago created the eponymous horror-fantasy fighting game after dropping the idea to make a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. EX Meter appears to be split between Offensive and Defensive abilities, and the Super Moves are now known as "Fatal Blows", still activated by mashing the shoulder buttons.

See, the first Mortal Kombat to feature guest characters was Kratos in Mortal Kombat (2011) - although he was a PlayStation exclusive. This included the gameplay reveal, a fatalities trailer, the story prologue, the reveal of Ronda Rousey as Sonya Blade, the Geras character reveal and a behind-the-scenes look at the development.

She added: 'I've always admired her and admittedly kind of emulated her in my own way, and now I get to try and be her'.

It includes the game, a steelbook, special packaging as well as a full scale replica Scorpion mask, which is pretty damn cool.

There's also two new characters called Geras and Kronica, both of which can be seen in the trailer.

Will you be pre-ordering for Mortal Kombat 11's beta test on PS4? In a video, the MMA star turned wrestler as she talked about her love for the franchise and the character she helped bring to life in the new game.
