Friday's draw means Barcelona and Real will face each other three times in less than a month, as the pair also meet at the Bernabeu on 2 March in La Liga.

Cillessen sustained a torn calf muscle during training and will be out of action for their busy February schedule, which sees Barca play seven games.

Barca overcame a 2-0 deficit from their quarter-final first leg against Sevilla, thrashing the Andalusians 6-1 in the return leg to progress 6-3 on aggregate.

Barcelona will be at home in the first leg on Wednesday February 2, while the second leg will played three weeks later on Thursday, February 27.

"If we are at our level we will go through", Barcelona director Guillermo Amor said.

Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari has hit back at Manchester City's Pep Guardiola after the former FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss snubbed Los Blancos when discussing the best teams of the past decade recently. "We are talking about two teams with a lot of resources, with extraordinary players, and we always expect very tight games".

Barcelona are now top of the La Liga table, with Real Madrid 10 points behind in third place.

Betis have added motivation in this year's competition after their own stadium, the Benito Villamarin, was confirmed as the venue for the final on May 25.

The last time the two rivals met, Barca inflicted a humiliating 5-1 defeat on Real which led to the exit of manager Julen Lopetegui.

Real Madrid's upcoming fixture list does not paint a prettier picture. Barcelona have won it a record 30 times.
