Apex Legends cross-play "definitely an opportunity" but not at launch

The rumored upcoming Titanfall battle royale game Apex Legends has reportedly had its map leaked. Apex Legends is real and you can see it for yourself right here.

"Apex Legends" will see its first season begin in March, during which time players can purchase a game-centric Battle Pass that will unlock exclusive cosmetic items that can be earned while playing.

If reports are true, and it seems they are, Apex Legends will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

"So, if you like Respawn, our games or even me, you should tune in tomorrow [Monday, February 4]", a tweet from Zampella reads. Over the weekend several reliable sources leaked information about a new free-to-play battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe called Apex Legends. Instead of generic soldiers, players control specific legendary characters with colorful personalities and unique weaponry, but no wall-running?

This isn't the first time a game's reveal has been ruined, but Respawn CEO Vince Zampella took it in stride and confirmed the game's existence, telling everyone to check the game's Twitch account on Monday.

Speaking to Eurogamer, lead producer Drew McCoy acknowledged that Apex Legends will attract skepticism.

Are you hyped to play a battle royale game with what we presume will have Titanfall's walljumping, and super fast movement gameplay mechanics? Apex Legends seems to have the Titanfall name attached for now, but it still seems quite separate.

Otherwise, you can subscribe to the Electronic Arts YouTube channel to watch all the newly released Apex Legends trailers and gameplay soon after they go live on the stream, in case you aren't able to catch them during the show itself.

For now, we know that it is a new Battle Royale game from Respawn and that there's going to be plenty of streamers promoting it this week.
