Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Pops Up At PEGI

The last Infinity ward Call of Duty game, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, also brought with it the remaster of the originalModern Warfare.

PEGI has rated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, hinting towards a Remaster version for the game's single-player campaign mode.

To be fair, there had been rumors about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 getting remastered by various sources long before this bomb dropped. Rumours about a possible remaster have pretty much circulated every year, but until now there's been nothing concrete to suggest that we will actually be getting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.

The first Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered was announced alongside Infinite Warfare in 2016. Some of the multiplayer maps were added later on by the developer Beenox.

However, another argument could be that Activision is planning to launch a standalone multiplayer remaster.

The same seems to be happening this time around as well. Activision-Blizzard, the publisher, has not made any official statement about the release. This year marks the tenth anniversary of its release, as well as being the turn of developer Infinity Ward to take the helm of the annual new title. While it's quite unlikely, it would make sense since Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is something that millions of gamers have nostalgic memories of. The fans have been waiting for Modern Warfare 4 ever since the release of Modern Warfare 3.

Details and official information about the game from Activision has not yet appeared. In any case, the Call of Duty franchise will be making a comeback soon though in what form, that remains to be seen.
