Man linked to murdered Sydney dentist dead

The New South Wales police believe that the road accident was deliberate.

The ex-boyfriend of murdered Sydney dentist Preethi Reddy died in a "deliberate" and fiery head-on collision a day before her body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase in her own auto.

Police had previously disseminated images of Dr Reddy and her grey Volkswagen Golf and Sydney City Police Area Command established Strike Force Carlwood in an effort to locate her.

The man is believed to be her former boyfriend who was also attending the dental conference, a police source told AAP.

She told them that she would head home after breakfast, and when she failed to return, her family contacted police.

She was last seen at Macdonalds following the Mardi Gras parade, and last spoke to her family at around 11am on Sunday, letting them know she was heading home.

At about 9.30pm on Tuesday, officers located a auto parked in Strachan Street, Kingsford. Police have stated that Reddy and her ex-partner had stayed at a hotel in Sydney's CBD on Market Street Sunday.

"Detectives ... are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, which is believed to be a deliberate act", police said in a statement.

Detective Superintendent Gavin Dengate revealed officers grilled Narde while Dr Reddy was still the subject of a missing person's inquiry after the pair spent Sunday night together.

"I'll see you again one day ... and we'll continue where we left off my angel", Mr Vemula wrote. Thank you all for your kind messages and from the bottom of my heart and support in looking for her.

The police reports states, she was stabbed numerous times which lead to her death.

Dr Reddy worked at Glenbrook Dental Surgery in the Blue Mountains, around 70 kilometres west of Sydney. The main person of interest in the case, Preethi's 34-year-old ex-boyfriend, Harshwardhan Narde, had also died in a vehicle crash.

The original reporting in this article stated that the man who died in the Tamworth crash was Preethi Reddy's boyfriend. The police believe that the auto crash was deliberate. Preethi severed off her romantic relationship with Narde who, it seemed, could not handle the break-up.

Nithya said the last activity on her phone was detected in the Sydney CBD at 1.47pm on Sunday, according to her mobile provider.
