Google Duplex assistant is coming to more states and restaurants

Unlike the choppy, emotionless voice assistants we've come to know and love, Duplex sounds organic; the system barely betrays its robotic side, speaking as smoothly as anyone with a firm grasp of the English language. You can see the full list of supported states by clicking the following link.

Are you planning on trying out Duplex when it arrives for iOS devices later this year?

The feature was being rolled out in October, but now, Google has announced it's making it available in 43 USA states. The company reiterated that it is an automated AI-powered system that will record call conversations. Continued Conversations is rolling out over "the next few days" to all Smart Displays powered by the Google Assistant in the USA that are set to English. All you have to do for that magic to happen is tell your phone something along the lines of 'Book a table for four people at [restaurant name] tomorrow night.' The video at the end of this post shows a demo of Duplex in action. The AI robot will go through the reservation procedures for the user. "Once your reservation is successfully made, you'll receive a notification on your phone, an email update and a calendar invite so you don't forget".

The company's fix center page still doesn't reflect the news, but Google says it'll update it soon. Previously, the company had its Reserve with Google Program but also had limited services.

It converses just like a real human (with "umms", "ahhs" and pauses) and can be used for making haircut appointments and restaurant reservations, to name a few.

How Duplex will make restaurant reservations? Then, it made Duplex available for a select number of Pixel 3 owners in a few cities, as a test run.
