"And the customers that are interested in finding out 'what's happening in games in my library, what kind of events are happening, what's been updated recently, what are my friends doing, ' making all that much easier for players to be able to find".

The redesigned library is potentially the biggest change.

Other highlights include the addition of recent games played added to library view, thumbnails of your game collection, and the games list will be a bit more noticeable. Rumors surrounding Steam's supposed redesign for various pages like the program's game library have circulated for a while now amid leaks and other whispers. Your friends' activity is now also pushed into the forefront so you can see what they're playing as you browse your own library. The friends list is now in the top-right corner, and games played recently will be ordered chronologically at the top of the library. Valve's Alden Kroll took to the stage and introduced the new features, the first being Steam Events.

Steam Libraries Are Getting An Overhaul And New Events Page Coming

Game developers can inform customers about ongoing events happening in a game, such as broadcasts, tournaments and game updates. If there's a major event scheduled for a game, the developer can make that known on Steam Events, where players will find all the related details and a button to get reminders when the event nears.

After years of rumors and leaked mockup images, it's finally happening: Steam's library is getting a new look.

Valve plans to launch Events as an open beta sometime in the next couple months; it's unclear when the new Library design will roll out to users.

Valve did not announce a release date for the Steam library update, however, Valve told PC Gamer that it was hoping for a beta in the summer.
