But one particular detail has captured our attention more than any other, and we reckon it's worth pointing out separately just in case you missed it. The company put out a Borderlands Mayhem trailer that featured character designs straight from the Borderlands 3 4chan leak that hit the Internet earlier this week.

Amid long-winded setups for magic tricks and counting almost 50 cards (multiple times), Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford managed to formally reveal Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 2 VR is available now for PlayStation VR. We've counted 36 of them in our Borderlands 3 trailer breakdown, to be precise. Back in 2015, Gearbox said it wanted to make Borderlands 3 but that the studio needed help to make Borderlands 3 happen.

After years of waiting, and an increasing number of teases leading up to Gearbox Software's PAX East 2019 keynote, a new Borderlands has been teased, and we're expecting to hear more soon.

Meanwhile, the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection bundle is getting a 4K update on April 3rd, and a Borderlands: Game of the Year edition arrives the same day on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It looks like a celebration of everything Borderlands, which could point to every character appearing in the sequel or potential remasters on the horizon, perhaps in a new engine? It shows that pretty much everyone who survived Borderlands 2 is returning for Borderlands 3, there will be new big bads (a man and a woman, apparently), and loads and loads of guns. Borderlands 2 was firmly a single or co-op game where you could play it solo if you liked, but if you teamed up with friends, you get a greater challenge and greater loot.
