Chelsea manager Sarri downplays Hudson-Odoi's England success

"I saw him with England, it was a great performance".

Under-fire Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says he is ready to give England global Callum Hudson-Odoi a first start in the Premier League, either against Brighton on Wednesday or West Ham next Monday.

Speaking after the match, the Cardiff boss described the Premier League as "the best in the world", but said it had "probably the worst officials at the minute", adding the manner of the defeat was "soul-destroying".

The Italian manager had faced chants of "We want Sarri out" from his own fans when sixth-placed Chelsea were losing.

"I know the fans want us to win, and when the results are not there, we are all responsible".

Unsurprisingly, the Premier League top-six top the charts for the most goals scored this domestic season, but while Manchester City (81 goals) and Liverpool (72 goals) are romping away at the top of the goal-scoring charts, we ask the question which of the Premier League heavyweight sextet have had the most scorers in the division this season? The way to do it is to win matches.

"He is ready to play, probably he will start tomorrow or in the next match", Sarri told reporters ahead of Brighton's visit on Wednesday.

Azipilicueta accepted Sarri's side must improve during the final weeks of the season to secure a Champions League place. Callum is always in my mind, in my opinion, he is our future.

Sarri may be making a good point but he will need to play the youngster as much as possible between now and the end of the season if the Blues hope to keep the Englishman from the clutches of Bayern Munich this summer.

Chelsea fans chanted his name at Cardiff on Sunday but he was left on the bench as they came from behind to score a late victor.

"I am not happy, of course, but I am not concerned". I am not concerned.

Chelsea won the match courtesy of a late victor from Ruben Loftus Cheek but during the match, there were a series of decisions which went against the Bluebirds. It can happen. I can understand well the frustration of our fans.

"You nearly begin to think, is it me?"
