‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Images Show Schwarzenegger and Hamilton Back in Action

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, the stars of 1984 blockbuster The Terminator, took centre stage at annual movie industry convention CinemaCon to delight fans with footage of the sixth entry in the sci-fi action franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate.

Terminator: Dark Fate is set to hit theaters on November 1st.

Collider's Steve "Frosty" Weintraub watched the footage at CinemaCon 2019, and speaks to Collider Video's Dennis Tzeng about what we saw. "She's wonderful, a-ma-zing", said Miller. Too many people, too many story points. I didn't want it to look like a shameless money grab.

We've already gotten a look at Sarah Connor in the film - but now we've a glimpse of the main man.

The film is expected to be a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day and that the movie will be able to introduce new characters for the movie to pass the baton too. 'I am living this quiet, lovely life that doesn't involve being a celebrity, and you really have to think, do I really want to trade that in again for another 15 minutes?' According to IGN, Tim Miller only signed on for the project upon learning that Linda Hamilton's version of "Sarah Connor" had been written into the script.

Natalia Reyes in Terminator: Dark Fate. Mind you, Linda Hamilton's 'tude can't be tamed, even in the event of a Reitman's wardrobe malfunction. She noted in Terminator: Dark Fate they're "narrowing down the focus again so that it will echo the first two films".

The James Cameron-produced Dark Fate is taking a leap in that it is choosing to ignore all the movies that took place after Judgment Day, as well as The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show, only keeping the first two as part of its storyline "canon".

Gabriel Luna is playing another Terminator, one that remains a mystery for now, but certainly gives off T-1000 vibes in this image. Just like I was excited to see Jamie Lee Curtis return for Halloween, I'm excited to see Linda Hamilton return and remind everyone why she's one of the toughest ladies in action.

Much like Salvation and Genisys attempted, the plan is for Miller's film to be the start of a brand new trilogy.
