Joel Embiid gives troubling health update ahead of playoffs

The Philadelphia 76ers became very aggressive this season.

Joel Embiid has been one of the most exciting players in the National Basketball Association these past couple of years and he has been a huge reason why the Philadelphia 76ers have been able to get out of being one of the worst teams in the league.

He was officially listed as "doubtful" for Saturday's game withload management - left knee soreness. Embiid sat out Wednesday's regular-season finale against Chicago, his fifth absence in seven games to close out the season.

Despite the missed time, the 25-year-old played a career-high 64 games this season, averaging 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while earning his second All-Star appearance. Another part of it has been that Embiid has been battling a knee injury, thus forcing him out of the lineup.

"I have no idea", Embiid told reporters when asked if he would be able to play against Brooklyn when the series begins Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Upon hearing early reports that Embiid may not play Game 1, Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said that his team is preparing as if Embiid will play.

"I'm hopeful that they will be playing with us for a long, long time", he said before tip-off.
