Gwyneth Paltrow Didn't Know She Was In 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

But the Oscar-winning actress told Variety she made a conscious decision to step away from Hollywood after the industry shifted to focus on more blockbuster fare.

Jon Favreau: Yes we were, you were in Spider-Man. But Paltrow was totally taken aback by the mere suggestion that she has ever been in a Spider-Man movie in her life, as flagged by Decider. So she probably forgot it altogether or lumped it in with the filming she did for one of the Avengers movies.

"Spider-Man?" asks Paltrow, puzzled, as Favreau tries to convince her that yes, they both in fact appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. While Gwyneth Paltrow initially stated she was not in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jon Favreau quickly reminded her of the details of the scene and a seemingly surprised Paltrow replied, "That was Spider-Man?" In addition to kicking off the MCU by directing the first two Iron Man movies, Favreau also plays the recurring character Happy. The actress has appeared in a number of Marvel Cinematic Universe entries as Pepper Potts, so big movies are nothing new to her.

"That was Spider-Man?!?" laughs Paltrow.

"You were in Spider-Man also", Favreau points out.

"No, I was in Avengers..." We just brought a film crew with us down to Atlanta, and we cooked at.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. If you starred in over 40 movies, you might not remember all of them.

"That was Spider-Man??" Paltrow realizes.
