"For Sunday's match, it's hard to not see Novak as a pretty strong, clear favorite for the title because Federer's weapon is probably his serve, and Novak finds a way to neutralize that", said former world number one Mats Wilander.

"It was a joy to play today", Federer said. While their status as legends of the game is already secure, it appears that neither one of them is willing to relinquish their iron grip on each tournament.

Another century stat followed by reaching the 100 victories mark at Wimbledon after the quarter-finals.

The 20-time Grand Slam singles champion capitalized on his serve throughout the match against Nadal, finishing with 14 aces and landing 69% of his first serves.

Swiss maestro Roger Federer has entered Wimbledon men's title for a record 12th time.

But still, Federer says that in any Wimbledon final you don't have as much time to study your opponent, comparing it to a school exam. The pair last played at the All England Club four years ago in 2015, when Djokovic beat Federer in the final for the second year in a row. But Wimbledon is Federer's dominion.

The top-ranked Serb won the third set to lead his semifinal against Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. I had a couple of mistakes in that moment. This one was a semifinal, not a final. There the match could go anywhere.

Nadal fired early warning signs that the second set might be different than the first as he held two break points in Federer's opening service game. Federer, understandably, seemed more jovial about Friday's match. Roger is roughly six weeks older than Serena, at 37 years, 338 days old.

On Friday, Federer beat Nadal in four sets.

And the first time it happened, in 2008, he won the title after beating Federer in a five-set marathon. Oddly enough, since then, the two arch rivals did not cross each other's path at Wimbledon until they came face to face yesterday.

Nadal fended off a fourth match point with another sublime victor but Federer sealed it at the fifth time of asking - holding his arms aloft as Nadal fired a backhand long.

A third match point and a Nadal victor.

The two exchanged blows in the first set, with Federer taking the set in a tiebreak.

Ironically, progressing in the tournament presents the Spaniard with a logistical nightmare. Suddenly the match sprung into life, and it looked like some potential fireworks were now on the horizon.

The champion then took command in the fourth set, cutting out the loose groundstrokes and picking up points with adventurous serve-and-volley attacks and after breaking for a 2-1 lead he never looked back.

"Yeah, it's definitely a bit unusual, a bit odd", said Federer who will be the third oldest man to play in a Slam final tomorrow.

The Swiss maestro gave another beautifully constructed, perfectly destructive performance to emerge a 7-6 (3), 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 victor over Nadal in the Wimbledon semi-finals on Friday.

So far, the opinions by the Greatest of all times, can differentiate, in a point all the Tennis experts and Fans agree: Without Roger and Rafa, the Sport would have been a lot of emotions, poorer. He also loves to read and travel.
