The "Rich Paul Rule" is part of the NCAA's new requirements for agents looking to represent student-athletes.

Rich Paul's peers are coming to his defense in the wake of a new NCAA rule that seems to be aimed at him. with National Basketball Association agent Daniel Hazan saying the NCAA is making a bad mistake.

Paul has become the most high-profile agent in basketball and all of professional sports.

Well, now CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reports the NCAA has established the criteria for agents who are going to represent these student-athletes.

Although he doesn't share the same agent as James and Bazley, newly acquired Thunder guard Chris Paul also weighed in. Check out the reactions below.

But it was Yahoo Sports reporter Jason Owens who suggested the NCAA may have targeted Paul, though Owens didn't provide evidence for his claim. So when the NCAA made this criteria, it was immediately received with backlash.

The NCAA just proposed a new set of rules for agents seeking to represent student-athletes. They BIG MAD and Scared.

Whether the new rule was aimed at him or not, it will now be referred to as the "Rich Paul rule". It now requires: a bachelor's degree, NBPA certification for at least three consecutive years, professional liability insurance and completion of an in-person exam. Nothing will stop this movement and culture over here.
