Heat bring back Haslem for 17th season

Miami Warmth legend Udonis Haslem is returning to the staff for his 17th National Basketball Association season on a veterans minimal contract price slightly below $2.6 million for one yr.The staff introduced the deal shortly after the 39-year-old ahead posted on Instagram on Tuesday hinting at his return.

Though Udonis Haslem has not conveyed a final decision, the expectation inside the Heat is that Haslem will return for a 17th season with the team, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Haslem, who was considering retirement, announced Tuesday that he is returning for a 17th season. He played in both of the key eras in franchise history, with Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal, and with LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Wade.

Haslem will help ease his transition and continue to bring along the young bucks.

It's a veteran's minimum contract, worth just under $2.6 million this season.

Haslem appeared in just 10 games last season in which he celebrated alongside Dwyane Wade during the Heat favorite's farewell tour through the National Basketball Association. Only Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, John Stockton and Reggie Miller have logged more seasons with one organization.

They were all first-round picks.

Haslem has spent his entire career with the Heat, winning three National Basketball Association titles along the way. The Miami native has been there ever since.
