Hart was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and the driver was taken to another hospital.

Hart initially walked away from the accident Sunday morning on the winding Mulholland Highway with help from a bodyguard.

The star was seriously injured in the vehicle accident over the weekend, with the roof of the auto was completely crushed in the accident.

According to the relase, two other passengers were in the vehicle, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, that was driven by Hart's friend Jared Black at the time. It's said the driver and third passenger were found pinned under the crushed roof, which the local fire department had to saw off.

'Hart and Black sustained major back injuries as a result of this collision and were transported and treated at nearby hospitals, ' Highway Patrol said in a report.

He suffered from "major back injuries" and will reportedly have to undergo back surgery. BBC reported that Black was the fiance of Broxterman.

The star had bought the auto as a 40th birthday present for himself in July.

The cause of the crash is so far unknown, but there is no indication that the driver was under the influence of drink or drugs.

Friends of Hart have been sending messages of support on social media, including Bryan Cranston, who starred in The Upside with Hart, Terry Crews and his Jumanji co-star Dwayne Johnson. His last post on Instagram was an image of him jumping into a pool with the caption,"Being home makes me happy.enjoy your weekend people!"

A representative for Hart didn't immediately reply to messages. "Love you man. Stay strong".
