Days after being crowned the U.S. Open's first Canadian champion, Bianca Andreescu is still basking in the glow of her historic achievement.

He says the Mississauga, Ont., teen embodies the Canadian identity and will likely consider what brands best represent her image, adding Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire spring to mind as natural fits. "Before the final, we learned that Serena used the same area".

"I think she is even more fearless now - she seems to just walk on the court and play her game and it doesn't seem that anything phases her", said Palmer.

"It puts it into perspective that there's no reason why other children around that age can't do what she's doing - it just takes a lot of hard work and determination", Preciado said.

The journey to her new world No. 5 ranking started long before her bid for the U.S. Open trophy, however, making Saturday's monumental moment at Arthur Ashe Stadium even sweeter.

He said the two of them have a "move" they shared when she won her matches during the U.S. Open - something he said it doesn't appear anyone has noticed, but is an example of their ability to have fun together.

Time is ticking on Serena Williams' crusade for a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam, and her US Open final loss to 19-year-old Bianca Andreescu in NY may just have been her last chance at glory.

The Mississauga, Ontario, native is being honoured by the city, as mayor Bonnie Crombie said Andreescu will get a rally and a key to the city.

Andreescu came back to win in three sets, earning a spot in the Roger's Cup qualifying. She aggravated a shoulder injury at the Miami Open. Barty already briefly was No. 1 after winning the French Open in June for her first major championship.

Serena Williams may have felt like she didn't show up on the court Saturday, but she certainly showed up for the NY premiere of The Game Changers.

He became her personal coach in March 2018.
