"That stability is under threat on Thursday", reports the Associated Press.

After two debates that sprawled over two nights to accommodate a big field of candidates, the third Democratic debate on Thursday is winnowed down to a single night, with 10 qualifying candidates. You'll have to wait and see!

The ABC News post on what to look for in the debate includes other points of interest, including Biden, who has been making an appeal to moderates, being positioned between progressives Warren and Sanders.

The debate will take place at Texas Southern University.

Candidates will be given one minute and 15 seconds to answer questions and 45 seconds for responses and rebuttals.

The White House hopefuls and their campaigns are sending mixed messages about how eager they are to make frontal attacks on anyone other than Trump.

Voters of Chinese descent were the likeliest to be undecided, and least likely to support Mr. Biden; most Filipino voters supported either Mr. Biden or Ms. Warren, it said.

Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg - who regularly fall in the top five, as well - tied for third place with 6 per cent. Eastern, so the debate will be three hours long.

The fourth debate is scheduled for October 15, with a second night on the 16 if needed.

"We found that, while AAPI voters are roughly aligned with other Democratic primary voters on their presidential preferences, their choices are being guided by concerns that are unique to their communities", said Ben Greenfield, Change Research.

Warren is getting lots of attention and was not only the most popular candidate among Democrats in the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, she's now caught up with - and even passed in some instances - fellow progressive Sanders in an average of the polls. "If you're going to beat him, you have to make your case". The mayor is 37.

Warren and Biden have tangled before.

There's also potential home state drama with two Texans in the race.

Also participating in the debate in Houston will be U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, former U.S. Housing Secretary Julian Castro, former U.S. Representative Beto O'Rourke and entrepreneur Andrew Yang. Castro has led the left flank on the issue with a proposal to decriminalize border crossings.

This poll marks one of the only times that Biden has been in jeopardy of losing his front-runner status.
