Vikings already lose their newest receiver to injured reserve

It appears the Vikings will roll into Lambeau Field with only four wide receivers.

Eight days after signing wide receiver Josh Doctson, the Vikings are placing Doctson on the injured reserve with a leg injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. However, the Vikings' newest receiver won't be making any sort of impact for the team anytime soon.

On Thursday morning, it turned out that Doctson would be far more than limited.

We'll update you accordingly on any moves, and Doctson's official injury.

Doctson can technically return this season. So it seems like this is something that he likely suffered during practice and the Vikings felt it would be best for him to take an extended period of time off to recover.

The Vikings have called up corner-back Nate Meadors from their practice squad.

Doctson, 26, was a healthy scratch for Sunday's opener against the Falcons after just signing with the Vikings earlier in the week. The native of San Bernardino, California, was waived during roster reductions and signed to the Vikings practice squad.
