The company is now embroiled in a privacy scandal, negligently leaking user data to other users.

Following the launch of its latest iteration of the popular annual footballing series FIFA 20, EA Sports have scored something of an own goal in leaking the personal details of 1,600 global series players to the general public. EA has taken cognisance of the issue and has since taken down the registration link.

We have come across a number of tweets from players seeking to register for the Federation Internationale de Football Association 20 Global Series that allows players to eventually qualify for the Federation Internationale de Football Association eWorld Cup. However, some players soon reported that upon trying to register, they would be shown the names, email addresses and other details of players who had already registered on the form.

The problem affected about 1,600 people, EA Sports said. Even professional Federation Internationale de Football Association players like Kurt were victims of the data leak.

Yesterday, EA began registrations for this season's FIFA Global Series, the competitive side to the game that lets players qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup. "We take these matters seriously, and we immediately took down the page while we investigate the matter", EA tweeted. It will start up again in the coming days, however, with the EA Sports Twitter account notifying players when it's ready.

The registration process for the series opened up October 3rd, and had interested parties eagerly filling out the forms they needed to see them entered into the competition with a chance to be a FUT Champions verified competitor.
