‘Overwatch 2’ Announced With New Heroes, Story Missions & More

Here's everything that Blizzard announced during its press conference, including Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone updates, and a new World of Warcraft expansion.

A release date for Overwatch 2 wasn't provided when it was announced, and it will be a while before we get one. "The routes end up having a lot of flanking in them", Kaplan said in response to a question from ESPN. It also includes and a new map queue, a feature that limits which maps are available at a certain time, which is coming ahead of the next in-game competitive season.

Overwatch 2 will add new maps and heroes into the mix as well.

Blizzard has officially announced that it is working on Diablo IV.

Not only will there be two days worth of eSports fun, including ten teams from around the globe competing in the World Cup. New heroes, new maps, and holiday events are just a few examples of the sort of content Overwatch players have received.

Kaplan and co. explained that Overwatch 2 would include several nuances the first Overwatch game didn't include. It's not clear if Sojourn will be appearing in the original Overwatch. Characters like Tracer, Brigitte and more return.

Overwatch 2 will be released on Windows PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

According to the post, "it takes significant time to meet the Blizzard quality level" that the developer and its fans have come to expect and Blizzard wants to take time to meet the "ambitious goals" it's set for the game.

The Opening Ceremony starts at 6pm GMT (11am PT) and will probably lean heavily on any new content being worked on. The company also pressed that new technology allows for smoother character animations and a seamless world.

Overwatch 2 is expected to contain some kind of single-player component or a multiplayer coop move that focuses on PvE.

Since Blizzcon 2018, Immortal had seemingly been put on the back burner; however, new information has been released today about the gameplay and story. Further, all of your well-earned skins, icons, sprays, and emotes from the first game will carry over to the sequel.

We also got our first look at three of the game's classes including the Barbarian, Sorceress, and Druid who got received a booming reception from the audience.
