Andy Reid Comments on Patrick Mahomes’ Week 10 Status

The Chiefs notched that win without the services of their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who has missed the team's last two games after exiting the Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos early with a knee injury.

During his meeting with the media before practice, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid wouldn't say who was starting at quarterback on Sunday against the Titans. "But he's obtained to go through this get the job done degree and maintain expanding it and see how he does". Mahomes' full practice participation therefore doesn't necessarily ensure that he'll start this weekend, but it does signal that he continues to trend in the right direction. He didn't take a ton of reps last week. Or next week. Or not until the Chiefs return from their bye for their next home game against the Raiders on December 1.

In his absence, backup QB Matt Moore has led the Chiefs to a 1-1 record.

Kansas City faces the Titans this week before playing the Chargers in Week 11.

"We have a good situation there because I have a lot of trust in Henne, likewise", Reid said.

"It's been a wild couple of weeks", Moore said.

The league's most valuable player does not show the same insane stats from last season, but he's gone for 2180 yards, 15 touchdowns and 5 steals this season. "But we just want to see, not only today when he works, but how he wakes up with it in the morning". Kansas City (6-3) lost at Green Bay 31-24 in Week Eight before defeating Minnesota 26-23 on Sunday. If Mahomes can't go, it'll be Matt Moore again.
