Oxlade-Chamberlain is back in after missing last month's squad having scored four goals in his last four games for Liverpool, including the victor in Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League victory over Genk.

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has also been brought back into the senior fold, having featured for the Under-21s last month.

Michael Keane, who started in the 2-1 defeat in Prague, has not been selected this time around but Manchester City defender John Stones has been recalled following a return from injury, while Mings was picked ahead of him for the Bulgaria match.

Hudson-Odoi and Abraham will be joined in the attack by Marcus Rashford, Callum Wilson, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho, who have been among the goals for Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs and Borussia Dortmund over the last month. A draw will be enough to see them qualify from Group A - they could also go through if Kosovo lose to Czech Republic on the same night.

England manager Southgate insists Kyle Walker's worldwide career is not over despite omitting him for a third-successive squad. (Trent's) form for Liverpool has been really exceptional. "It's an area of the pitch where, in terms of caps and experience, we don't have huge experience, and it's good to have John back in that mix".

Manager Southgate names his squad today for the games at home to Montenegro on November 14 and away to Kosovo three days later, with the Three Lions needing one more point to book their place at next summer's tournament.

There was also no place for Aston Villa's in-form captain Jack Grealish or Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.

"And it's the 1,000th England game - a momentous occasion for everybody and a pretty special to be involved with".

"The squad itself is a little bit larger than normal, we've got a few injury doubts, so we've named a slightly extended squad".
