Prince William wore a traditional black tuxedo, ultimately keeping the spotlight on his wife.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is getting rid of her appropriate-hand girl. In Catherine's hospice came to meet with children and families, and to take a tour of the hospice and discover a plaque which officially announced the opening of this building.

The duchess, who is the charity's royal patron, was greeted by children from Poringland Primary School as she arrived at the site and she spoke to them individually. Surprised commuters spotted the royal disembarking from the Wherry Lines train as she made her way to the hospice. It's not the first time the two have paired up for charitable causes.

Further cementing her down-to-earth nature, the mother of three arrived at the engagement by train. While touring the facilities, the Duchess of Cambridge met with some of the patients and their families, one of whom included a girl who was dressed in a braid. She was absolutely delightful, I didn't know if I was breaking protocol or not but I did ask her if it was OK to ask her to dance, and she said "I'd love to".

"It was awesome. I shook her hand!" he exclaimed. However, there is one significant difference between all three of Kate's appearances.
