With Liverpool and Manchester Metropolis so dominant within the Premier League, the significance of success in different competitions has elevated for the remaining six bigs and United are not any totally different.

When Jose Mourinho was relieved of his managerial duties last December, the Red Devils turned to a club legend to steady the ship.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said earlier this month that the club will only make signings in January if they can offer long-term solutions at Old Trafford.

The reason I am finding myself part of the business world is simply because leaders are seeing the great similarity between the two worlds.

United now sit in seventh place in the Premier League, nine points behind the top-four, and face a tough challenge if they can secure a return to the Champions League next season.

"I know I have a great job on my hands".

"I told the players I came here because of them".

According to one of the English FA rules, a player sent on a loan deal can't play against his parent club whenever both sides tackle each other.

"He took a couple of steps back from certain situations because in some cases he could not punish or replace players as there was nobody to replace them with. I tried to buy some for different clubs and some I didn't even try [to buy] because you know how hard it was". Changing that will be key to Mourinho's chances of restoring Spurs to the top four. "I am a club man, but (a) many clubs man", he said. I would not be surprised if Mauricio Pochettino is a manager somewhere else in the Premier League.

As a manager he has earned an incredible level of respect, by leading Tottenham Hotspur to a Football League Cup in 2014-15, but the achievement that really showcased his quality was the Champions League footballing stage of dreams, where he took Tottenham all the way to the final at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid, in front of 63,000 footballing fans. At each, I give everything. I want to have this adventure, go through many countries, going through the Grand Slam of England, Spain and Italy. "I did it with this passion and then the Premier League, I thought, is my natural habitat".
