Christian Bale Circling Role in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

In 2017, Michael Keaton became the first onscreen Batman to make the leap to Marvel in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Collider is reporting (and THR confirms) that Oscar-winner Christian Bale (The Fighter, Vice, Ford v Ferrari) is in talks with Marvel Studios to join the fourquel Thor: Love and Thunder!

Bale's previous streak in a comic book movie was Warner Bros.' Chistopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy as Batman/Bruce Wayne. However, he may not be the only Dark Knight in the MCU.

Collider reports that Marvel did not respond to their request for comment regarding Bale's purported negotiations. Taika Waititi has proven to be one of the most interesting and eclectic voices in the studio system, so a thespian like Bale is probably champing at the bit to work with him. He also had a leading role in 2009's Terminator Salvation.

Love and Thunder marks the fourth Thor film, and the second by Waititi. While the Grandmaster and Korg are both confirmed to return to the film, which hints that at least some of the film will take place in space, the movie's basis will be Jason Aaron's mid-2010s Thor run of comics where Jane Foster wields Mjolnir. However, Taika Waititi will once again direct the upcoming Thor sequel. Perhaps Gorr, the God Butcher, or perhaps a brand new character created specifically for the film.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on November 5,2021. This affiliate advertising program also provides a means to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
