Rob Pelinka reportedly initiated trade call with Kings about Kyle Kuzma

It stands to reason why Pelinka greased the wheels on a potential Kuzma-Bogdan Bogdanovic swap, considering the Kings must make a decision on the Serbian guard soon before he becomes a restricted free agent at the end of the season. Lastly, the inconsistency of the young but talented Kuzma probably makes the organization (and James) feel a bit uneasy about how he would perform deep in a playoff series. Kuzma seems to be clashing with superstar forward LeBron James at this point of the regular season, causing some drama around the Lakers locker room.

Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma is averaging career-lows in points and rebounds.

The Kings and Los Angeles Lakers are on opposite sides of the standings this season. In three seasons, he has averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. However, NBA fans thought Kuzma's new hair was hilarious and ended up making jokes about his hairstyle.

"I've been in trade rumors since I came here", he told reporters.

Now according to the latest from Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Lakers went from Kuzma being untouchable to at least taking offers, even if a trade doesn't appear to be likely, for now. He's also owed just $1.9 million this year and $3.5 million next season.

Without question, the Lakers would win this trade by a landslide if they can pull it off. If he's finally finding his groove then maybe the Lakers won't have to move him, after all.

Kuzma, if traded, will be the third first-round pick of the Lakers to be shown the door inside of a year.
