Tiger Woods announces when he'll return to the course in 2020

Tiger Woods will kick off his 2020 PGA Tour season at Torrey Pines and can also be seen at the Genesis Invitational.

Woods will play the Farmers Insurance Open near San Diego before hosting the Genesis Invitational February 13-16 at Riviera near Los Angeles, where he is the tournament host.

The tough Torrey Pines track has been generous to Woods in the past.

The tournament begins January 23 at Torrey Pines. It will be no less exciting in two weeks, when Woods returns to San Diego's seaside municipal courses as the reigning Masters champion. "On top of that, to be able to host the tournament each and every year at Riviera, where it all started for me, it's come full circle".

His schedule may also be affected this year by his desire to play for the U.S.in the Olympics. The Farmers will be Woods' first chance in 2020 for his record-breaking 83rd PGA Tour victory.

Neither of these are a surprise, as Woods has regularly began each year by playing at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, and his foundation helps put on The Genesis Invitational at Riviera. There are also nine past Farmers Insurance Open winners committed (including the last 10 straight), as well as 11 players who have accounted for 33 major championship victories.

Tiger joins an already strong filed which includes the likes of Rory McIlroy, John Rahm, Justin Rose, and Phil Mickelson.
