After a attractive Sunday, winter weather moves back into Kansas

We'll see bright sunshine for much of the day with light winds and high temperatures in the low-to-mid 40s. Partial clearing by Sunday afternoon could help temperatures reach the upper 40s to maybe even 50 again. We will see temperatures work back close to 50° by the end of the weekend and early next week.

A daily assessment of the potential for at least 1 inch of snow in the next week, on a 0-10 scale.

Temperatures are also key, near 32° would mean a wet, compacting snow.

It will cool off at night, and there is a slight chance of rain or snow showers during the nighttime hours. While a strong, gusty storm can't be ruled out most locations should be OK. It is cloudy most of the day, but the winds pull cooler air northeast. Since the measured values drop nearly to zero, there is a risk that it will rain Wednesday evening until early Thursday. A north wind cranks up later tonight and gusts up to 30 miles per hour.

Rain and storms on the way...

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy, Isolated Showers. Portland's chances for rain are 90%, and the high will be 49. The overnight low will be in the mid to upper 30s.

FRIDAY: A mix of sun and clouds. Clouds will increase during the afternoon. Highs in the low to mid 50s.

7Weather- The next several days are mainly dry, but then it becomes unsettled by Wednesday night.
