Much of ME and New Hampshire is without internet Friday afternoon. Customers lost service in Upstate New York, New Hampshire and Maine, Spectrum said.

At around 5pm, Pritchard said that service had been restored. About two dozen residents of that area posted on Facebook early Saturday afternoon that they had lost cable TV service, but still had internet.

So many people called Spectrum's help line that the help line is no longer accepting calls. She said that winter storms damaged the company's network redundancy on Friday, and with the storm damage in some areas, it made it hard to access the equipment that had to be repaired. The service provider did not say when the outage was expected to be fixed. "We are investigating and working to resolve the problem".

As of 5 p.m. Saturday, the services were restored, according to Charter Communications' Lara Pritchard, senior director, communications NE. "We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing".

"Services within our northeast region are now impacted by fiber optic damage".

"It's been hard, gaining access to the area for repairs, until power and storm-related damage have been cleared", Pritchard said Saturday afternoon.
