Joy Behar is taking a break from The View amid the spread of the coronavirus.

The disease known as COVID-19 is particularly risky for people who are elderly or have underlying medical conditions, and Behar acknowledged that due to her age she was part of that demographic. "The quantity makes me dizzy".

So far, 41 people in the United States have died from the illness.

Neither she nor the show's staff has tested positive for the virus, according to Variety.

Behar will not be on "The View" next week, and then she'll decide when to return after that.

Behar told her fellow hosts that she's made a decision to follow advice from her daughter and stay at home to try and stay out of harm's way. "I'm going to socially distance myself a little bit, so, next week you won't see me here", she continued, which was followed by support from her co-hosts.

The View is one in all a variety of speak exhibits which have canceled massive gatherings amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, "As Joe Biden looks more and more like the Democratic nominee, there's a lot of speculation over who he'll pick as his vice president, Stacey Abrams, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar have been mentioned".

"You know, don't you think that this is a good time for [Trump] to resign?"
