According to The Hill, Greene in turn said that "there was no screaming", and added that the House Ethics Committee should look into AOC for suggesting that previous Trump staffers should be punished for their affiliation with the previous administration.

"This is beneath the dignity of a person serving in the Congress of the United States", Pelosi remarked, further stating that it "probably is a matter for the Ethics Committee".

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene confronted Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez outside the House chamber on Wednesday afternoon, the latest of several confrontations Greene has had with her Democratic colleagues.

After the exchange, Greene accused Ocasio-Cortez of cowardice. "Why do you support terrorists and antifa?"

Greene also allegedly said that Ocasio-Cortez is not able to defend her "radical socialist" ideology because she rejected to debate Greene publicly. Greene then turned to nearby reporters and called Ocasio-Cortez a "chicken". "These members are cowards".

'They need to defend their legislation to the people. "I don't think the debate has been agreed to yet", Greene told reporters after Ocasio-Cortez ignored her, referring to her request in tweets to debate on the Green New Deal.

"See, that's bipartisanship, talking to one another, debating policy for the American people".

In a Facebook video posted Wednesday, the congresswoman made similar accusations, describing Ocasio-Cortez and her congressional allies as "The Jihad Squad" - a play on the group's "Squad" nickname.

Lauren Hitt, a spokesperson for Ocasio-Cortez, told the outlet that Greene "tried to begin an argument with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and when Rep. Ocasio-Cortez tried to walk away, Congresswoman Greene began screaming and called Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a terrorist sympathizer".

"It got so uncomfortable for AOC that she asked the "leadership and the Sergeant at Arms" to take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place for all Members and staff - especially as many offices are discussing reopening". A neighboring congresswoman, Marjorie Newman, put an LGBTQ flag on her office door, which led to MTG putting a sign up directly across the hallway: "There are TWO genders".

Ocasio-Cortez has said that she and other Democratic lawmakers don't feel safe around many Republican House members, particularly those who have minimized or lied about the events of January 6.

She said something in response, but it was not overheard by reporters and her office declined to say what it was.
