Another shooting in the Miami-Dade area, described as a "domestic related" incident, left three dead and three injured early Sunday.

The shootings were the latest in a string in the Miami area, police said. The condition of the 18-year-old was not released. Another shooting on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach left two people hurt. Police recovered a firearm from the vehicle, but say it's unclear whether it was involved in the shooting.

Police have not released the identities of the gunman or victims. Two were deceased at the scene, and another died at the hospital, Ramirez said.

One of the victims was a female corrections officer, who died in hospital while the other two were found dead after a vehicle they were in crashed.

We are devastated to learn a member of our FDC family, Officer Taylor, was killed in a fatal shooting.

"Protecting the safety and wellbeing of all Miami-Dade families and swiftly bringing those responsible to justice is our most urgent priority", she said in the statement.

"It just goes to show you the magnitude of this gun violence issue", Ramirez said at the news conference. Two dead people were found in the vehicle, along with a gun.

A mass shooting by three masked suspects outside a banquet hall in Northwest Miami-Dade left two dead and 21 wounded, including three who were hospitalized in critical condition. MDPD Director Freddy Ramirez said the shooting took place inside a strip mall parking lot near the intersection of SW 104th Street and 109th Court.

Police officials launched "Operation Summer Heat" late last week, which involves increasing surveillance in high-crime areas and adding crime analysts and license plate readers, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said on CNN's "New Day" on Monday.

According to police, two men and a woman were killed, and at least five others, three men and two women, were injured and transported to the hospital in private vehicles.

"We will not allow a small group of violent actors to terrorize our community, and violent offenders will face the full weight of the law", she said in a statement Sunday. "I am fully committed to making sure Miami-Dade Police Department has all the resources needed to pursue these criminals and keep our community safe".
