Shooter, two others dead in Florida Royal Palm Beach supermarket shooting

On Thursday, police in Palm Beach County, Florida, responded to a shooting near a Publix grocery store.

The department says the scene was inactive and the shooter was one of the store's deceased.

When deputies arrived, they found three people dead from gunshot wounds: a man, woman, and child.

"Everyone was yelling, active shooter, shots fired, get out, get out", said Dr. Ron Glassman, who had just come out of a nearby bank.

Juan Guardia said he was in the supermarket's deli area when chaos erupted.

It is not clear what led up to the shooting but deputies said they do not believe it to have been random.

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani tweeted: "Two people were shot and killed inside a Publix in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office. This was NOT an active shooter situation". Greene said. "I just thank God for being with me".

Publix has more than 1,200 stores across seven states in the Southeast U.S. Maria Brous, a Publix spokesperson, told USA TODAY the company was cooperating with local law enforcement.
